This January, our annual Time to Talk events took place across the country, bringing together farmers, industry professionals, and advisors to engage in meaningful discussions on a topic that is increasingly vital to the agricultural world: carbon. This year’s focus was on understanding how carbon impacts the agricultural sector—not just at the farm level, but also within the larger corporate landscape. If you couldn’t make it to one of our events, here’s a rundown of what you missed…

A Big Thank You to All Attendees

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the various events. It was incredible to see so many farmers, advisors, and industry members gathered together to exchange ideas, ask questions, and connect with one another and our expert speakers. Your engagement made the events truly special and showcased the collective
commitment to learning and evolving in this ever-changing field.

A Day Packed with Insight

The events featured a series of presentations from industry leaders and experts, including Neil Fuller, Nick Woodyatt, Tim Parton, and members of the AIVA team. Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed not only informative sessions but also opportunities to network and share their own insights over tea, coffee, and lunch breaks.

Neil Fuller’s In-depth look at Carbon

Neil Fuller kicked off the event with a comprehensive presentation on the role of carbon in agriculture. He provided attendees with a deep dive into how carbon is currently influencing agricultural practices, particularly in the context of sustainability and climate change. His thorough approach helped demystify the complexities of carbon management, making the topic
accessible to everyone—no matter where they were in their journey of adopting sustainable practices.

AIVA’s Business Perspective on Carbon

Following Neil, the AIVA team—Olivia Bye, Nick Thorp, and George Hepburn—took the stage to focus on how carbon impacts the business side of agriculture. They shared insights into the products and trials that AIVA is developing to help farmers and businesses navigate carbon-related challenges. Their presentation highlighted the importance of integrating carbon
considerations into farm management strategies and the potential for innovation in this area.

Nick Woodyatt on the Corporate Role of Carbon

After lunch, Nick Woodyatt led the afternoon session, diving into the broader corporate implications of carbon management. He explored how businesses across the agricultural industry are responding to the growing pressure to reduce their carbon footprint. His session highlighted the importance of aligning farm-level efforts with corporate strategies to drive systemic change and ensure long-term sustainability.

Tim Parton on Regenerative Approaches

The final speaker of the day, Tim Parton, shared his personal experiences and insights into regenerative agriculture. Drawing from his own trial-and-error approach, Tim detailed the steps he’s taken on his farm to adopt regenerative practices. His presentation was a powerful reminder of the potential for real-world impact through on-farm experimentation, and how these practices can lead to improved soil health, biodiversity, and carbon sequestration.

Positive Feedback

The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing that they had gained valuable insights and actionable takeaways. One attendee summed it up perfectly:

“This is the content that should be covered at all farmer events, educational, in-depth but also all accessible and relevant to everyone no matter their current nutrient regime. Felt like independent, informed advice without pushing product. Thanks!”

Looking Ahead

We’re thrilled that this years’ Time to Talk events sparked such insightful discussions and provided so much value to the agricultural community. As the conversation around carbon and sustainability continues to grow, we’re committed to offering more opportunities for farmers and industry members to come together and explore solutions.
