Stepping into Soil

The first month of my journey at Aiva brought the full spectrum of British weather—snow, rain, and sunshine. While the conditions were unpredictable, they provided an ideal opportunity to reconnect with my local community and see how everyone was getting on.

My journey into agriculture began at the age of 12 when I joined my local Young Farmers’ Club. From the very first day, I was welcomed into a supportive and driven community—one that I knew I wanted to be a part of for years to come. After finishing school, I set my sights on agricultural college, where I could immerse myself in the core aspects of farming. Coming from a non-farming background, this was an invaluable experience that provided me with a solid foundation in the industry.

Eager to continue my education, I went on to study Business in Agriculture at university. My focus shifted toward understanding how farmers manage their businesses in an increasingly sustainable and environmentally conscious world. Throughout my studies, regenerative farming and the importance of caring for the land were key themes that emerged, fuelling my interest in finding innovative ways to balance productivity with sustainability. I also explored how diversifying farming enterprises and managing resources effectively could enhance long-term business viability.

Upon completing my university studies, I began to focus on the efficient use of nutrients and the reduction of nitrogen inputs. This led me to examine ways of reducing reliance on pesticides and herbicides, which ultimately sparked my interest in Aiva. I was drawn to their holistic approach to agricultural nutrition and their commitment to addressing the root causes of issues that farmers face. Aiva’s emphasis on effective, farmer-friendly products further cemented my positive outlook on their work.

Let's Connect!

As I look ahead to my future with Aiva, I am excited to continue meeting more farmers and exploring ways to support them in achieving their goals. For those of you located north of the Humber, feel free to reach out if you’d like to discuss anything related to Aiva or farming – I’m always available by phone, and my wellies are never too far away.
